Bi Tan Piao Xue

碧潭飘雪

A traditional Sichuan-style jasmine tea made from tender early-spring green tea buds from Mount Mengding and jasmine buds from Jianwei, Sichuan. Scented eight times and finished with one firing, it combines a gentle jasmine fragrance with a fresh and distinct green tea character.

Jasmine tea in China has developed distinctive regional traditions, with Fujian and Sichuan representing two important styles. Sichuan-style jasmine tea is traditionally made with pan-fired green tea from tea-growing areas such as Mengding, Emei and Yibin.

Bi Tan Piao Xue is distinguished by the jasmine blossoms visible among the tea leaves. When brewed, the green tea settles towards the bottom of the cup like a clear jade-green pool — Bi Tan — while the pale jasmine blossoms float above like drifting snow — Piao Xue.

Our Bi Tan Piao Xue is made with tender early-spring buds from Mount Mengding and jasmine buds harvested before they fully open in Jianwei, Sichuan. The tea and fresh jasmine buds are repeatedly brought together through the traditional scenting process, allowing the leaves to gradually absorb the natural floral aroma. It undergoes eight rounds of scenting followed by one firing.

The finished leaves are tightly curled and slender, with visible silvery-white down and scattered jasmine blossoms. The jasmine fragrance is soft and well integrated, while the character of the green tea remains distinctly present. The liquor is fresh, mellow and clean, making it particularly suited to those who enjoy pure green tea but appreciate a gentle layer of natural floral fragrance.
