Rose Black Tea

A naturally sweet black tea from Fuzhou, scented with fresh rose blossoms. Bright notes of red berries and ripe cherry meet a clear floral fragrance, while the black tea underneath brings a soft sweetness and rounded body.

Fuzhou has a long tradition of producing flower-scented teas, using fresh seasonal blossoms to introduce fragrance into finished tea leaves. While jasmine is perhaps its best-known expression, roses offer a very different character — warmer, fruitier and more rounded.

For this tea, rose flowers are harvested before they fully open, while their fragrance is still concentrated within the buds. They are then brought together with the black tea, allowing the leaves to absorb the natural floral aroma during the scenting process.

The combination works particularly well with the natural fruitiness of the black tea. In the cup, the rose is distinct without masking the tea underneath. Raspberry and juicy red-cherry notes appear alongside the floral aroma, followed by a gentle sweetness reminiscent of vanilla. The result is smooth and aromatic, with a fuller and warmer character than our green-based scented teas.
