Ta Xue Lan Fei
A delicate scented green tea from Mount Mengding in Sichuan, made from tender early-spring buds of Mengding Xue Ya and carefully scented with spring flowers from Huangshan and Sichuan. Floral and expressive, yet clean and gentle in the cup.
Ta Xue Lan Fei originates from Mount Mengding in Ya’an, Sichuan, one of China’s historic tea-growing regions. The tea is made from tender early-spring buds of Mengding Xue Ya, grown at elevations above 600 metres.
The green tea is carefully scented with spring flowers from Huangshan and Sichuan, allowing the leaves to gradually absorb their natural fragrance. The finished leaves are slender and tightly rolled, with fine silvery down over a soft green surface.
In the cup, the floral aroma is pronounced yet elegant, accompanied by fresh notes reminiscent of tender bamboo and honeydew melon. The liquor is clear and pale yellow, with a soft, mellow sweetness and a clean, lingering floral finish.
BREWING
Because of its tender spring buds, Ta Xue Lan Fei is best brewed with cooler water to preserve its fresh and delicate character. Use 3 g of leaf for approximately 5–7 infusions, gradually extending the brewing time with each one.
